I have lost count at this point but it is another rainy day in Northern Georgia. If it doesn’t stop soon I think it is going to drain me of all creative energy. Even the birds seem to want to stay home.
My latest project has been to re-knit Dawn to Dusk Shawl in a more delicate yarn. I wanted to see how it looked in a lacier version, and how it looked using off the shelf yarns.
This shawl was created using 2 strands of lace yarn held together and as each section was knit one color was dropped and one color was carried into the new section.
Color progression –
Lamb (light pink) + Begonia (dark Pink)
Begonia (dark pink) + Yellow
Yellow + Orange Yellow
Orange Yellow + Chipolte (Pink Orange)
Chipolte (pink orange) + Fiesta (Dark red)
Fiesta (dark red) + Reddish Brown
Reddish Brown + Pinot (dark purple)
The original shawl has a span of 50″ and width of 22″, Dawn to Dusk DK has a span of 38″ and width of 19″.
